“My current body of work focuses on the journey I am willing to undertake, which involves leaving home, becoming independent, and supporting my family. Horses feature prominently in many of my recent works. These pieces are a continuous exploration of a previous artwork I created titled "Ukoyisa Uvalo," which translates to "overpowering your fears." This artwork stemmed from my experiences as a young man in the Eastern Cape, where one of my main responsibilities was looking after our animals. However, I harboured a deep fear of them, perceiving every animal as dangerous and intimidating.”
