My artworks are meant to bring into conversation and discussion, the issues of migration in our contemporary society. I travelled from Zimbabwe to South Africa because of my economic situation. I crossed the border and had my identity checked at immigrations, and arrived to fit-in, in a multi-racial country. My work are printed banknotes that consist of images talking about my journey from Zimbabwe to South Africa. My identity as a migrant staying in South Africa, and also the hostile economic politics that I’m observing. I emphasize money being the cause of migration though the use of the etching technique. These artworks are a comparison of my country of origin and my new homeland.
