At The Threshold Portfolio

In honoring the election year of 2024, printmakers from two countries from opposite corners of the globe developed this portfolio, At the Threshold. This project represents an exchange between twelve carefully selected South African artists from the Artists Proof Studio (APS) in Johannesburg, South Africa, and twelve American artists from The Los
Angeles Printmakers Society (LAPS), based throughout California and the United States.
The participating artists engaged in conversations describing their values and illuminating their individual perspectives of democracy and peace, lying at the very heart of our societies. Fostering profound cross-cultural connections this project acknowledges and celebrates the democratic process through the universal language of art.
