“My work explores the relationship with my father.  I was involved in a horrific car accident and suffered the loss of my father in the same year. The figures represented in my work have distorted legs. The accident made me aware of a resulting distortion in my own legs as they were injury. Objects that remind me of my father such as mechanical tools and furniture are represented throughout the body of work. These objects honour my day as they are the only physical remnants of him.” Gugulethu Mnguni
