Printmaking with Purpose: Converging Visions Exhibition at RMB

Artist Proof Studio (APS), in partnership with Art & About Gallery and sponsored by Rand Merchant Bank, is proud to present Converging Visions—an exhibition that celebrates the depth and range of contemporary South African printmaking. The show opened earlier this month in Sandton, bringing together APS’s collaborative spirit and creative excellence in an all-print exhibition that highlights the social and personal themes our artists continue to explore.

An All-Print Exhibition Exploring Hope and Shared Perspectives

The works on view are unified by the themes of memory, identity, and resilience—ideas that feel especially relevant today. Each print reflects the artist’s perspective and process, using techniques such as etching, screen-print, lithography, and relief to express layered stories.

A major highlight of the exhibition was the release of In Defence of Optimism, a new signed edition by William Kentridge. This edition was offered exclusively at the opening night. All proceeds support APS’s Education Programme—ensuring that each print purchased goes beyond the gallery walls, directly supporting the next generation of printmakers through scholarships, materials, and mentorship.

As a social enterprise and educational space, APS is proud to see the work of both established and emerging artists shown together. This exhibition is a reminder that printmaking remains a powerful tool for storytelling and change.

Converging Visions is currently on view at Art & About Gallery, located at First Rand Bank, Fredman Drive, Sandton, and runs until the end of May. If you missed the opening, there’s still time to experience the exhibition. Join us on the 13th, 14th, or 15th of May for live printmaking demonstrations at Vovo Telo Café (in the same building), where you can witness the processes and take home a printed work.
